Security plan

El Child Care Safety Plan (CSP) is a document designed to help parents plan for temporary custody of their children in the event of an emergency, such as detention, incarceration, deportation, illness, military deployment, or death. This plan provides a crucial tool for families who wish to ensure the stability and protection of their children in unforeseen situations.

Family Financial Plan

All families benefit from having a family financial plan, as it helps reduce stress and facilitates decision-making in times of emergency. This includes deportation situations, as it does not deprive you of your economic (financial) rights.

Red card

The Red cards for immigrants Red Cards are legal tools designed to help undocumented individuals know and exercise their rights in the event of an interaction with immigration (ICE) agents or law enforcement in the United States. These cards contain key information about immigrants' constitutional rights and a statement that can be given to agents to avoid self-incrimination or permit a warrantless search. If you need Red Cards, please call the CAB Information Line at (831) 440-3556.

Steering Wheel: Quick Response

This flyer advertises Santa Cruz County's rapid response line (831-239-4289) to report ICE activity and obtain information. It also reminds the community of their basic rights: do not open the door, remain silent, do not sign anything, and request to speak to an attorney.

The video addresses the challenges of immigrant families in the U.S., highlighting the bullying that children experience at school because of their background. A mother comforts her son, encouraging him to focus on his education and future, and highlights the importance of validating and understanding children's emotions. Additionally, the need for families to have an action plan in case of an emergency is emphasized, and parents are encouraged to adequately prepare to protect and support their children in these difficult circumstances.
In this brochure, Santa Cruz County highlights its status as a sanctuary for immigrants and trans people, not complying with ICE detainers and offering comprehensive reproductive health and gender-affirming services. Additionally, it collaborates with community organizations to respond to changes in federal policies that affect immigrants and LGBTQ+ communities, ensuring continued protection and support.
